Prototype Response
the feedback to our prototype of driving in time was very positive . it was described as more fun than expected along with surprize about how it played and felt. we were happy to get the opportunity to show off our game to a class of game developers.
from watching it being played certain things were made apparent as in the camera movement being too slow to keep up with the vehicle turning ,power ups stacking and there is yet to be nearly enough feed back when people are hit in the game.
To solve these problems we aim to add both sound and visual effects to the targets and the people when hit. we are thinking about potentially rag dolling people when hit. as well as a low ploy blood. for the targets we are thinking they might get hit and float into the air and explode in a vacuum send back to their own time kind of way.
we also would like to embrace the positives of this play test. from the way that our play tester enjoyed having multiple speed ups combined to make them go crazily fast. but at the same time the car does become very hard to control and in future maps they may include harder to navigate streets so we may have to make the car easier to control while speed boosted.
